Transportation Projects • People • Funding
A long-term technical framework for connecting TranspoFairfax project records, documents, meetings, maps, analytics, and AI tools through structured data access.
A future Transportation API could allow project records, status updates, documents, meetings, agencies, funding sources, and map data to be searched and reused by websites, dashboards, AI assistants, voice tools, and partner systems.
An API would turn transportation information from static pages into reusable structured data. This would make it easier to power search tools, maps, dashboards, project feeds, alerts, and future multi-jurisdiction transportation knowledge systems.
| Endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|
| /projects | Search and return transportation project records |
| /communities | Return community pages and related project records |
| /corridors | Return corridor records and connected projects |
| /documents | Search reports, PDFs, maps, and presentations |
| /meetings | Return meeting archive records |
| /issues | Return issue tracker records |
| /updates | Return project change log and recent updates |
| /analytics | Return project counts, status summaries, and dashboard data |
A future AI assistant could use the API to retrieve current, structured project records before answering resident questions. A voice interface could then read those answers aloud and provide links to source pages or documents.
The API could also support maps by returning project locations, corridor boundaries, community tags, construction areas, and issue tracker points.
